to the governor of nevada giving his state of the state address giving out this particular issue. [video clip] >> i announced nevada would comply with the affordable care act as they related to the expansion of medicare services. as a result, some 78,000 more nevadans will have coverage without facing the new tax penalties imposed by the affordable care act. [applause] the federal law allows us to shift the mental health and other state spending to other sources say. the general on nearly $25 million over the biennium. over the next six years, this will create up to 8000 new health-care jobs and inject over half a billion dollars into where state's economy. as i noted before, we must increase taxes to bear the increased cost of the affordable care act, but the issue of the long-term health care costs remain. as such, i believe we must ask certain medicaid patients to have a modest contribution. i will insist nv will be able to opt out of the expansion program in early -- in later years should circumstances change. nevada. for 30 years, republicans and democrats in nevada have said they don't want nuclear waste buried in nevada. anything that touches the local state touches the constituents, and touches the people who are going to vote for them. when we get to national issues, however, it is different situation. the number out of 233 republicans and house, only 16 of them were elected from districts carried by president obama. up to 200 democrats -- of the 200 democrats, only eight or nine or elected from districts carried by governor romney. that means the greatest danger to these republicans and democrats is in the primaries. what happens if you or a member of congress, you are great concern is to protect yourself in those primaries from people coming at you from the left and right. congresswoman edwards touched on it. there is only one way around this. it takes leadership to provide cover in politics, to get people the courage to stand up and do what is right. how do you get there? members of congress -- i have been in this town for 30 years. they don't know each other anymore. they don't spend

measurement of the snow in the sierra nevada and guess what! yup. 134% of normal. looking good so far. of course, that means nothing of in we completely dry out right now. but so far, so good. lots of snow, lots of water in the high sierra. we are dry though now in the bay area. well, those temperatures are getting cold in spots. 27 degrees right now in napa. 29 in concord. 28 degrees in santa rosa and 30 degrees in livermore. going to see widespread frost around the bay area again this morning. if you are heading out another cold start to the day. afternoon sunshine then the temperatures right around cease until for this time of year. changes by the weekend though. we could see a couple of showers move back in. but for today, high pressure holding on. starting to slide eastward now. we'll see a few high clouds from this weak system making its way into far northern california. other than that we are going to keep things nice and dry. around the state, maybe some showers toward the eureka area but nice and dry into the centra valley. 50s in fresno. 44 lake tahoe. 47 yosemite. 59 monter

, nevada, all of those governors will be interesting to see how many of them are very vulnerable in 2014 or not. christie, obviously, is the 2013 -- not very null vulnerable. maine, very vulnerable. this could be where some of the action is here. democratic legislatures here. here are the places where there are democratic governors and a divided legislature. arkansas, missouri and montana. arkansas is sort of the lone holdout in the south where republicans have gotten everything. but they have super majorities in places like missouri and arkansas. so they have effectively -- they can override any veto of the democratic governor, whether it's tax rates, any of those things. so they have effective control on that front. let's look at this, the other places where there is divided government in iowa, the house and senate. the governor there, republican governor. new hampshire, oh, you've seen there, not surprising. washington state, a little surprising. since it's a state with democratic dominance, if you will. and kentucky, a little surprising, since it's a state with republican dominance.
